Brush your teeth twice a day, every single day, for at least two minutes per brushing session. Generally, we recommend soft-bristled toothbrushes for most patients. And we strongly recommend that your toothpaste should include fluoride.

You already know that brushing your teeth is important. But did you know that it’s just as essential to floss once daily? We’d recommend flossing at nighttime, right before you go to sleep. If you fail to floss, then you’re failing to clean about 40 percent of the surface area of your teeth!

For many people, the most challenging tip for maintaining good oral hygiene is the recommendation to eat a balanced diet. You can help to prevent tooth decay by limiting your intake of sugary and acidic foods and drinks. This can be tough, especially if you have a sweet tooth!
